Meeting at Cubbon Park 29-06-2006

Hello All, We last met at the Deeproot office and took several decisions. Before tomorrow's meeting I hope that we can prepare to review the status of our various efforts. 1. With regard to conference bank account-funds are required for day-to-day conference preparation. 2. Travel and boarding/logding arrangements. 3. Open session with RMS on the 22nd of August. Venue, cost, etc... 4. Media coverage- very important!!! But no sign of it in any form of media except online. 5. Volunteers. 6. Event publicity. 7. Call for paper presentations. 8. Sending out invitations. Are the finalised invitations/press notes ready on the Conference letterhead? 9. We need a contact person for international registrations for visa, etc... 10. Technical aspects-Audio/video streaming, dedicated IRC channel, etc... 11. campaign material-posters, handbills, merchandise for sale, etc... 12. Sponsors. 13. Delegate pack with relevant materials such as transcripts of speakers' presentations, promotional CD/s, notepads, pen,etc... 14. Others/etc... [WikiBug] Trail missing page

Hi List, You will see that the trail at the bottom of the wiki pages jumps from 'Schedule' page directly to 'travel' page missing out 'Register' page. The issue that 'Register' page is static page, thus an external link (/register) which is not displayed* by the pmwiki trail function. Can somebody find a fix for this? Cheers --arky

Summary of IIM meeting 28-06-06

Hello All Yesterday's meeting at IIM was a fruitful on with us being able to interact with Prof. Rahul De and four of his "Sigma" students. Some of the main points of our discussions: 1. A open discussion/debate at IIM on the 21st of August with our participation/guidance. 2. Editing Conference Wiki to include directions to reach IIM. 3. Necessity to provide A/V facility outside the Session halls due to space constraints and possibility of huge participants. 4. technical considerations- audio/video streaming facility, bandwidth considerations, slashdot effect, etc.. 5. Delegate, volunteer identification passes. 6. Parking arrangements within the campus. 7. Posters guiding everyone within the campus to the session hall. 8. Allocation of the Hospitality responsibility to the IIM boys/girls. 9. Letters to international delegates for Visa. 10. -- Regards Vikram Vincent

Hi All, THanks Vikram for the note. We will use FSUG list for the organisational matters. GPLv3 list we can use to provide information to participants. Some update regarding activities. 1. Abhas is working on Sponsorship with help from Praveen and others. 2. James will act as the email contact for participants, he will in turn will contact others for addressing needs to participants. 3. Invitation is being sent by James, if you have any names to suggest which is not there on original list please mail James. 4. Arky has updated the site and it is more informative now. 5. Arky will be following up with media. 6. We have reached nearly 100 registration now. We have registered participation from even outside India. Anurag is doing all work relating to online registration. I think the list sent by Vikram needs to be discussed in the next meeting of organising team. This needs to happen quickly. Some other urgent work includes. 1. Inviting media people 2. Personal meetings to invite dignitaries 3.
