Guys I need some help. my qmail seems to be working qmailctl stat shows that the smtp is working now how do I make applications see it as sendmail. I have removed sendmail from my box
I use pine to send a mail the mail goes no where.
what's the problem

This is very very well-documented in the qmail package. There is a file called README.sendmail in /var/qmail/doc and the FAQ has a wealth of information including how to make pine and other MUAs work with qmail.

Create a link from /usr/sbin/sendmail -> /var/qmail/bin/sendmail As Sameer mentioned do read more than you write.
