Hi Ab, nice to hear from you ...
I thought we will help them with compilation tips. Hacking would come as a
sequential step. I am sure there are numerous folks out there seeking a
headstart.
Nevertheless i will start my effort, it will be great if you could pitch in.

tarun

Hi Rakesh,
Thanx for your prompt mail. Infact I mailed Dr. Nagarjun to find out if
there is some Hyderabad Chapter or not? As per him we dont have it as yet.
So i was thinking of getting some mail ids and contacting like minded people
in hyderabad and throwing a small party for them and take it ahead from
there.
Please advise and suggest on how we could go about it.
regards,
tarun

Hi Friends,
I fully agree with Sajith that we should start discussing some programming
topics in the lists and help revive the list ....
Let me initiate a technical discussion out there ... I have couple of
friends who are very eager to start working on HURD but they have no idea on
how to go about compiling their own kernel from scratch. Is there someone
who is real good at it and can help the newbie's out ....
Lets keep a date and Start our postings on this learning, if others can
suggest other topics it will be great !!
Let this be in fsf-prog ....
Hail Open Source !
regards,
tarun

Thanx Imran,
Yep LDAP is more specific. Infact I am looking at some ideas related to
distributed secure naming architecture that could be applied in and out of
virtual world. If anyone knows of any such work somewhere, it will be of
great help.

tarun

No, I don't agree with the project being taken down. Enough
arm-twisting by corporates who want to protect their ``Intellectual
Property'' by killing innovation and the individual hacker (not
cracker!). If the project is taken down it will create a bad
precedent in India, which will eventually lead to DMCA, PATRIOT and
similar restrictions being placed on Indian developers without anyone
having raised his/her voice against it.
Sarovar, CVR, etc, please fight this case. And to put my money where
my mouth is, I'm putting in Rs. 1000 to help you get a lawyer. I'm
also forwarding this message to more lists and requesting people to
come up and help defray your legal costs.
Please set up some sort legal fund and fight!
