*** Systems Developer, London *** This is an exciting time to join our IS Department: having recently restructured, we are poised to play a bigger part in helping the organisation meet its objectives. Working closely with the Systems Architect you will develop and maintain our systems and explore areas where bespoke systems could benefit Greenpeace. Much of your work will relate to our supporter database, which is vital to Greenpeace's financial stability. You will also have some involvement in international projects.
What we are looking for
3+ years experience of using Java and relational databases, building web applications with JSP/JSTL/Servlet and using integrated development environmental tools Familiarity with the whole lifecycle of software development, including direct experience of working with users to establish their requirements and in testing systems The ability to work as a technical specialist in multi-disciplinary project teams First rate communication skills, including the ability to pass on technical information to non-technical users
*** Webmaster, Bangalore *** The Webmaster shall be responsible for:
- Providing strategic oversight and direction to Greenpeace India's
online and interactive presence.
- Creating and executing content solutions across Web, interactive,
viral and new media.
- Building and maintaining relations with key functionaries in other
departments, especially offshore.
- Building and maintaining relations with external stakeholders such as
ISPs, bloggers, online radio stations, news/entertainment portals, etc.
- Troubleshooting our Website, as well as ensuring it is updated and
available twentyfour-seven.
- Keeping abreast of and exploiting the latest industry trends, esp. in
the Web 2.0 sphere.
- Proactively contributing to the overall strategic and tactical
initiatives of the Communications Team.
Performing other job-related duties as assigned by the Communications Director from time to time.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' work experience with a renowned Web design /
solutions company.
Expertise in Java, HTML, PHP and CSS
Hands-on experience in Flash scripting, FrontPage, PhotoShop and
DreamWeaver.
Good communications skills, esp. in English.
Strong co-ordination and team-working abilities.
Ability to multitask and work under stress.
Must have a keen appreciation of typography, design and aesthetics.
