Hi all, I was going through http://wikiwikiweb.de/LugsList and found that only FSUG-Banglore has a gnu.org.in link as such http://bangalore.gnu.org.in/ It is a pity that the pages cannot be updated and we do not even know whom we have to contact to do the needful. In jest, "will the real slim shady please stand up".

Vikram, The site is being hosted by us. As the only activity for a long time that was happening was by a spammer, with nobody willing to clean it up, it has been locked down to be read-only.
If people are willing to come up with content, keep cleaning the Spam, etc. We may make it writable again.
And if you wanted to know who managed the website, (though we were at fault with no "contact-us" page or link), you could have always done a "whois", which says its managed by Arun of FSF. And he would have told you that we maintain it. :-)

I had posted the following mails http://mm.gnu.org.in/pipermail/fsug-bangalore/2007-April/001196.html http://mm.gnu.org.in/pipermail/fsug-bangalore/2007-April/001197.html http://mm.gnu.org.in/pipermail/fsug-bangalore/2007-April/001199.html
If no one objects I propose that we update http://bangalore.gnu.org.in to a more visually appealing wiki-based platform and I can take the main responsibility of maintaining the content with everyone's support.

I fully agree with you. Let me setup a new wiki and then we can port useful content from the current one to it. Shall we say that this should be operational by Wednesday?
Cheers, Abhas.

As an ad-hoc arrangement, could the old wiki at http://bangalore.gnu.org.in/be made read-write from the current read-only option. When the new wiki is set up we can do the needful. Thanks.
