Hi All,
Please consider this as a request for participation/help. We have communication from FOSS.IN about having space for us.
1. We have got the initial list of posters( in soft copy). Some of the material is arriving by snail mail.
2. We would put a machine with GNU/Hurd. Praveen has already volunteered to get on top of this.
3. We would need 2 people to be there to look after the place as well.
4. Banners for FSUG, Bangalore --> any takers
5. Looking for a place to get the posters/leaflets printed.
Anything else to add.
Thanks and Regards
Kanti

Can we demo free languages like php/perl and the huge repositories of goodness like CPAN/Pear. I volunteer for this part.

Kanti, is there a plan to meet up before the event to coordinate things, or something similar ? I haven't seen much of a discussion on the course of action happening either in fsf-friends list or here... so kind of confused :)
Furthermore, FUSG didn't have a meet in a long time (as far as I know, of course!) and surely a lot of folk have joined us meanwhile. Everyone might be interested in having a cuppa together if nothing else.
Oh by the way, there had been quite a bit of controversy sorrounding FOSS.IN/2005, which I'm sure everyone is familiar with by this time. To drop two familiar URLs,
http://kingsly.net/kingsly/Linux/bangalore/no-blug/ http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=13048057
All of that seems to have gone silent, all of a sudden. Or I don't hear any of that noise. Wonder what the FSUG's take on the whole thing.
I really do not expect to show up during FOSS.IN/2005 since the programme happens on Nov 29 to Dec 2, all working days :( Probably I can help with setting up a Hurd box, in case Praveen needs that.
Apologies for contributing to the noise factor in this list, but what have been raised, hopefully, should be valid concerns.
Thanks, Sajith.
Hi Sajith,
I need help in seting up the GNU box. First of al I don't have a system, so anyone ready to have it installed ? I hope to get EduSarge (Education distro developed for Kerala Schools based on Debian) CDs soon. We can think of demoeing that too. May be we can present the susscess story of Kerala as a presentaion in the stall.
When can we meet up ?
Cheers Praveen A

Wow, I would like to see this thing working. Do you know if EduSarge is actively used by teachers? Or was this developed for presenting a case with the academic community? (You know, the information available on the web isn't quite a lot.)
I too don't have a machine outside work :) There is an old fellow lying around at my place, it has been quite a hassle bringing it up.
This weekend?
Thanks, Sajith.
