Hello All,
Next BOSUG(Bangalore OpenSolaris User Group) session will be an "Introductory session on the Open HA Cluster". Open HA Cluster becoming available provides for some *very* interesting possibilities. This session should help us get going. Please see details below.
Open HA Cluster:
Open HA Cluster is the open source version of the from Sun Microsystem's Solaris Cluster software which is the best High Availability Solution for Solaris platform by virtue of the tight integration with Solaris Kernel. It is also the only free and open clustering solution from a leading vendor.
The product is being open sourced in 3 phases and quarterly updates are released to coincide with SXDE releases.
[1] the code that makes the applications highly available called Agents was open sourced in 7/07 under the aegis of Open HA Cluster community along with the cluster software built for Nevada.
[2] The next phase will be the open sourcing of the Disaster recovery software called Geographic cluster and is tentatively scheduled for Dec'07 release.
[3] The core components of the cluster software will be open sourced in 2008. These are available as free download right now.
Why should you attend?
- Do you want to setup a High Availability cluster on your
laptop/Desktop? (yes on a laptop!)
- Do you want to become a core contributor and leader in a community

- Need an excellent opportunity to learn fault recovery mechanisms in
