Hi Dominick, Welcome to Bangalore. Hope you are enjoying the city's weather. Yes, I am! Thanks. The slow traffic is annoying me though! I agree with you that the community is less active. I too would like to make some good fnds and learn more about open source. This is not an open source community Manjunath. We must clearly understand the difference between free software and open source software. I'm not sure if open source is offtopic on this mailing list. The seniors will tell us though. Is Bangalore FSUG a dead mailing list?

Hi! I have relocated to Bangalore as I got my first job here. I have searched the internet to find this mailing list, and I'm unhappy that the Bangalore FSUG is more or less dead. When I do recieve an e-mail, it's about some certification material from IBM, Oracle and SUN SCJP. The closest thing remotely related to free software is the CCNA. Is this what Bangalore FSUG is all about? Would there be anyone who would really wish to promote or contribute to the spirit of free software? I have come to know foss.in is being held between 15-17 of Dec at NIMHANS Convention Center. I'd wish to know how many are attending. This will be the first time I'll be attending the event, and I'm looking to make some free friends. Dominick

Hi all i have an internet connection with speed 4Mbps and my plan is offering free unlimited download from 2AM to 8AM but with a monthly limit of 2.5GB. Usually i download more than 50GB a month by not sleeping in the night. But nowdays i feel tired in the night and has to wake up early morning. But this week i have to download a lot especially the distros which may be as large as 4.5GB each. I wish if there was a solution if my laptop would automatically turn on at 2am and start downloading the stuffs which i have placed in the queue/scheduler of the download manager and stop downloading at 8am and turn off automatically. Any way to do so? Even partial solution?
