Hi all,
We can have a LUG meet at KReSIT, IIT Bombay on the 8th of Dec if all
are interested. We have a choice between a classroom that can seat 50
people and the audi that can seat 200. I have temporarily booked both.
Gods of the list, please confirm the meet, so that I can also announce
on the IITB newsgroups. Is Sunday 4pm fine? Can't expect too many
people from IIT, since most have left for home for the winter
vacation.
Jaju and Chetan please note, I won't be present on 8th. We need to
…
[View More]ensure ITA takes care of the tea arrangements.
I'll also try to see if I can get more details about the new
"Affordable Computing Lab" that Prof. Phatak is planning in the dept.
Agenda for the meet?
Sameer.

Dear Devendra,
Go to http://www.poptop.org & download the 1.01
version of PPTP.tar.gz file.

girish
Hi
I have been trying to make my Linux kernel MPPE and
PPTP aware. Tried
downloading the i386.rpms (for pptp and mppe) from
pptpclient.sourceforge.net and proceeded as per the
James Cameron's
howto
(for Psyche - RH 8.0).
http://pptpclient.sourceforge.net/howto-redhat-80.phtml
But, after proceeding through the entire cycle of
rebuilding kernel
modules
et al, I still get a message …
[View More](from pptp-command) that
kernel is not
supporting pptp.
a) pppd daemon does not start...same excuse. Kernel
release version
2.4.18-14
b) On further investigation (modprobe -v pptp or
mppe); it shows up an
error in a file called ppp_generic.o saying 'uresolved
symbol' at
various
lines of code.
c)
# kernel-modules/kmodinst.sh
kernel-modules/new-2.4.18-14/
When i perform this action ...module dependencies
command returns some
errors.
Has anyone had any success in the same?
Pls help...as I need to connect to my Cable ISP's VPN
box (thru
ethernet)
to access email.
Regards
Deven

hi fellas
i was just thinking...
how bout an anthem for the movement??
i think this one wud be gud.
dont know if u've heard this, but its by metallica
its called "Nothing Else Matters"
and it goes...
So close no matter how far
couldn't be much more from the heart
forever trusting who we are
and nothing else matters
never opened myself this way [opening us to free os]
life is ours, we live it our way [life is our n we have have
ourchoice]
all these words I don't just say [we just dont say,…
[View More] we do]
and nothing else matters
trust I seek and I find in you [we find trust in free os]
every day for us something new [we have somethin new every
day:)]
open mind for a different view [ya ours is a diff view]
and nothing else matters
never cared for what they do [dont care for criticism]
never cared for what they know ['coz we know more]
but I know
so close no matter how far
couldn't be much more from the heart
forever trusting who we are
and nothing else matters
never cared for what they do
never cared for what they know
but I know
never opened myself this way [free os was an eyeopener]
life is ours, we live it our way
all these words I don't just say
trust I seek and I find in you
every day for us something new
open mind for a different view
and nothing else matters
never cared for what they say
never cared for games they play [they call it business policies]
never cared for what they do [$100 million?? ]
never cared for what they know
and I know
so close no matter how far
couldn't be much more from the heart
forever trusting who we are
no nothing else matters
----------------------------------------
now how was that?? not written with free os in mind but still
quite a match, it has the spirit. try n listen to it once, even
the music has that feeling of freedom.
may be we can play this at linux lunacy?? what say trevor??
comments pls...
regards
gurpreet
