Hello Gnu/Linux Users,
I wanted to say that when we say ILUG in ILUG-BOM,
aren't we ignoring "GNU" ?
I think so because, it's "GNU/Linux", not the Linux kernel alone that
we support.
So ILUG should be more appropriately called IGLUG.
And so, ILUG-BOM should be IGLUG-BOM.
I maybe wrong on this since I may not know the reason for this.
If you feel I am thinking wrong, please correct me.

Hi guys,
Since the website http://www.ilug-bom.org.in is hosted on a
server at TIFR ( i think so ) , can we have an IRC server set up there so
that, there can be more interaction, fast responses and good discussions ?
As for improving the ettiquete of this mailing list , we can invite people
who make mistakes to a room at IRC and teach them the proper way. And also,
i think it will also compliment this wonderful mailing list. I request Sir
Nagarjuna to look into this.
Regards,
Saurabh Sawant ! :)

Hi all,
Recently I heard a lot 'bout Sun getting into Open Sourse with their Solaris 10,
after attending their seminar on Solaris 10,I think its worth giving a shot at..
so anyone in Mumbai who has downloaded the Solaris 10( I'm too lazy for downloading it myself ;-), and who is kind enough to share it kindly let me know I'll make a copy of it.
thanx in advance,
Regards,
Selvin

Dear Luggers,
Its 2.40 am and I finally got my modem working in RHEL. The problem was
that I had piled up many drivers one over another. I did a fresh install
of the OS and then installation and setup was as smooth as butter. I
also observe that though the site says that the free driver version is
limited to 14kbps, I am able to connect at 56Kbps.
I am sending this mail from evolution in RHEL and this is my very fisrt
mail to you all and thanks to all of you, especially the admin for this
lovely forum.
Best Wishes,
Rony.
Hi,
This is about vsnl's new smtp authentication settings. As usual,
they have only given instructions for outlook, outlook express and
eudora and netscape. The chap on the helpdesk phone had no clue
whatsoever as to what to do with linux or even what sort of
authentication they were using.
Of course, the 22nd November deadline is way past and I can still get my
emails thru the vsnl smtp server without any changes in my config. If
this mail gets thru, that should be proof enough. I am using FC2 w/
postfix (and fetchmail w/ mutt).
So how do I go about ascertaining what changes I need to make in my
config ?
thanks,
Sharukh
