Router config page and linux

So there's a router separating the private network from the internet. I've got a Linux box (gort) and a Windows box (wintermutex) and others (all Windows, none important) on the private network. The router's a Linksys BEFSR81 (I think that's the model number) (8 port). It has a web-based password protected only-from-the-inside configuration. All the Windows boxes, including wintermutex, can access this page. Trying to get there from gort doesn't work -- it's like the port is closed. nmap says the port *is* closed. telnet router 80 yields an unable to connect. *Everything* else works as it should. What is a Memory Barrier

Hi, Can anybody explain what is a memory barrier? I was scanning through some of the sample code of module implementation. In many places author has called a macro 'mb()'. Without any detail comments author has said 'a memeory barrier is required...'. I found that mb is defined as 'do{;} while(0)' ----- Shirish(a)antara.net

Promoting Linux

Hi Friends, A good news is that our central government is also taking deep interest in promoting Linux in all area. Government wants various agencies to give some feedback on the information related to Linux. They have sent a draft to NCST also. I think this mailing list is the best place where I can post the questions and get answers so that I can forward the information to our government. Please give as much input as you can. I am directing the revised information/feedback format on "Linux India Initiatives" for your kind consideration and input. The format is as follows : "Linux India Initiatives" Information may kindly be furnised under the following heads : 1. Linux - The need; 2.
