Problem With kernel 2.6.0-test2

I finally convinced myself to try out beta kernels. And I downloaded the 2.6 test version. But the problem now is that modules don't work. Is there anything different that I have to do compared to the normal kernel compilation procedure? My 2.4 kernel still works fine (compiled it from source... so I guess I'm no a complete stranger to it.) Welcome to the world of kernel compilation!! Even I had the same problem, and i posted to the list. You need to install module-init-tools and then recompile the kernel. There could be other packages you must upgrade, check out the README/INSTALL files with the kernel. -- Goldwyn :o) I finally convinced myself to try out beta kernels. How to mount linux filesystem

Hi All, Need some helps here. Previously i have a hard-disk with linux 7.3 which recently crashed. I decided to setup a new hard-disk with linux 9, a install the previous hard-disk as secondary. Does anyone know, how could i access the secondary hard-disk contents? by using mount? Thankx

Hurd Cd's

Hi, Is there anyone here who has Debian GNU/Hurd cd's? (preferably the K4 release). I have tried the vendors listed at http://www.gnu-india.org/ but that is a dead end. I tried emailing a couple of people off this list but that has not led anywhere. It seems terribly hard to find Hurd cd's in Mumbai. On a dial-up line, downloading is unfortunately not a viable option. If someone does have the cd's and is willing to sell copies to me, please let me know. Thanks, - Apurva

CEP Workshop on "GNU/Linux at Work"

First of all ... we desperately need publicity for the workshop to work. No turnout so far, although the DEP people say its not yet time go get really alarmed. We are trying to put together a list of people who might be interested and mailing them the brochure. Would be great if people on the list also helped by doing the same. Is there any way to get some publicity done through the groups in Pune, Nagpur, Nanded, Hyderabad, Indore?
