Problems with ILUG Acronym.

Hello Gnu/Linux Users, I wanted to say that when we say ILUG in ILUG-BOM, aren't we ignoring "GNU" ? I think so because, it's "GNU/Linux", not the Linux kernel alone that we support. So ILUG should be more appropriately called IGLUG. And so, ILUG-BOM should be IGLUG-BOM. I maybe wrong on this since I may not know the reason for this. If you feel I am thinking wrong, please correct me. -- Regards, Saurabh Sawant. (risqer).

IRC server for ILUG-Mumbai !

Hi guys, Since the website http://www.ilug-bom.org.in is hosted on a server at TIFR ( i think so ) , can we have an IRC server set up there so that, there can be more interaction, fast responses and good discussions ? As for improving the ettiquete of this mailing list , we can invite people who make mistakes to a room at IRC and teach them the proper way. A Positive Attitude

Dear Luggers, Its 2.40 am and I finally got my modem working in RHEL. The problem was that I had piled up many drivers one over another. I did a fresh install of the OS and then installation and setup was as smooth as butter. I also observe that though the site says that the free driver version is limited to 14kbps, I am able to connect at 56Kbps. vsnl's new smtp auth settings

Hi, This is about vsnl's new smtp authentication settings. As usual, they have only given instructions for outlook, outlook express and eudora and netscape. The chap on the helpdesk phone had no clue whatsoever as to what to do with linux or even what sort of authentication they were using.
