GNU Libidn 0.4.2 alpha released (fwd)

---------- Forwarded message ---------- GNU Libidn is an implementation of the Stringprep, Punycode and IDNA specifications defined by the IETF Internationalized Domain Names (IDN) working group, used for internationalized domain names. The library contains a generic Stringprep implementation that does Unicode 3.2 NFKC normalization, mapping and prohibitation of characters, and bidirectional character handling. Profiles for Nameprep, iSCSI, SASL and XMPP are included. Punycode and ASCII Compatible Encoding (ACE) via IDNA are supported. A mechanism to define Top-Level Domain (TLD) specific validation tables, and to compare strings against those tables, is included. Default tables for some TLDs are also included. Eventually hopefully a StringPrep, Nameprep and IDNA implementation will be added as well. Currently you need to specify --enable-java to enable the Java interface. The Java sources (below java/) are compiled into byte-code (not native code) into a JAR library. ** More translations. Added Danish (by Morten Bo Johansen), French (by Michel Robitaille), Polish (by Jakub Bogusz), and Serbian (by Aleksandar Jelenak). ** Norwegian TLD table added, by Thomas Jacob. ** API and ABI is backwards compatible with the previous version. * Version 0.4.1 (released 2004-03-08) ** The user messages from the command line utility are now translated. Currently English and Swedish is supported. ** Logic of stringprep_locale_charset modified. Future versions will use, in order, $CHARSET iff defined, nl_langinfo (CODESET) iff working, or fall back to returning "ASCII". Earlier it attempted to guess the system locale, in contrast with the current application's locale, via some setlocale save/set/reset magic. This change may require you to invoke setlocale() in your application, which is (should be) required for non-ASCII to work anyway. Based on discussion with Ulrich Drepper. ** The command-line utility now invoke setlocale (LC_ALL, "") at startup. ** Fixed SASLprep tables to prohibit non-ASCII space in output. Non-ASCII space has always been mapped to ASCII space, so it is not clear this really have any effect, but the specification require it. ** Building Libidn as part of GLIBC has been updated. Just type this on the gateway console # tcpdump you must be using a dual homed machine as your gateway not quite a efficient method BUT generally helps in finding which PC has a network virus or a trojan.... you'll see the affected machine ip just filling up your screen. If its a windows machine, just download sygate personal firewall available on download.com, its a freeware on the affected machine, check the applications that are accessing network resources using SPF, you'll definitely find the trojan.... If its a GNU/Linux machine then # ps -el should list all the running daemons......single out the unknown one use # pkill daemonName this is a patch fix but immediate solution that I use, the experts in the LUG would definitely give you a long term effective and mature solution. best of Luck ! bijucyborg www.getopensource.com Do you Yahoo!? Pramila , Why don't you check your mount point of all filesystems in /etc/fstab file . I use knoppix 3.3 and this where i came to know about mount point of hard disk,cd,floppy. You can try the following command. to mount any filesystem mount filesystem path name and then to check its contents cd /file-system path name Yahoo! problem in adding new application

In Add/Remove Applications I am getting error, "Installation Tree Not Found the path /mnt/cdrom does not look like a valid installation source" I started with minimum installation & want to add applications now plz help Pramila Do you Yahoo!? cheap machine

using just for checking email and doing some office work. dont want to buy highend athlon and p4 that consume lot of power. what is the cost of via processors and motherboards ? i heard they are very cool and dont need huge fans. performace is not a issue. but temperature, noise and power consumption are. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? linux on fat32

i have a very old 2 gb harddisk with a fat32 partition. i seriuosly doubt it will survive a format and repartitioning. it alrady is making noise and is on edge of its lifetime. is there any linux distro that can install (with X and few apps like mozilla, openoffice) on a fat32 partition ? __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
