Linux based Time & attendance system

Friends, I need to advise a client on which "time & attendance" system to acquire, to replace an ailing/legacy DOS based one. If any of you are aware of (Mumbai) vendors/integrators offering a GNU/Linux based time and attendance system for a 50-100 person organisation, please oblige by providing contact info OR just pointers where I could look for such vendor(s). I am keen to review/recommend a (open standards) solution rather than propietary (read M$) based quotes received todate. If it helps clariy, I seek your help to locate 'vendor/integrator' as against googling for 'software/tools'. Thanks in advance for your time and help on this. Vydya

Running Java Applets in GNU/Linux

Am using gcj for compiling my Java code and gij for interpreting the class files. I would like to know how to run Java Applets in GNU/Linux (not by creating a html file to run that applet). Is there any package available for that (something similar to appletviewer) Am using Debian sarge testing. Concept of Copy/Paste.

Hello All, What is the concept of copy paste in linux as compared to windows? In windows I can save highlighted text or links in the clipboard and close the source program or editor. In linux, if the source program/editor is closed, it does not highlight the 'paste' option in the destination program or editor. Case: As a safety measure links from emails are never clicked directly, instead they are copied and then pasted in the addres bar of the browser. In this process if the email client is closed, the 'paste' option is not highlighted. Same thing happens when saving parts of a web page text from a browser to a text editor. So in linux is the concept of copy based on the an active link only as compared to windows, where a seperate memory pad is used to store the text?
