Kernel Panic: Fatal Exception.

Hi. I got a Kernel Panic: Fatal Exception error when my RHEL3 system was up and running. After this, the system crashed. Rebooting it solved the problem. The strange part here is that I got the error when the system was up and running and not during boot which is normally the case. Strangely, the messages file does not have any entry about the error. Is there any way by which I can determine the cause of the problem and hence avoid it in the future? Regards, NMK.

hi, Any one's tried out SLAX itsa really neat distro. Boots from cd usb ... only 2[0-9][0-9] MB comes in different flavours ... downloadable install packages (modules)... modular KDE and a selection of the best oss out there If u dont have an fast internet connection then this is what u are looking for. http://www.slax.org/ Steven -- Life would have been a lot more easier if we could look at the source code.

internal modem drivers for 2.6 kernel , anyone ??

I have a (Dlink) DFM - 560IS +++ internal modem. I wanted a driver for Linux kernel 2.6 for it. When i bought the modem, a year back,i got a driver for the 2.4 kernel with the modem. So i am forced to use the older version of the kernel to connect to the internet using the entire bandwidth. Has anyone bought a Dlink internal Modem (connexant chipset) recently,... ? Maybe you have the driver for the 2.6 kernel. linuxant.com does provide drivers for 2.6 but one can connect only at speeds of 14.4Kbps using it. The full version is something around 20$ .. I called up Dlink (knowing i won't get anywhere) today.The guy at the call center after making me wait for atleast 10-15 minutes, gave me the linuxant url... :-) with a disclaimer that it wasn't supported by Dlink..!! He kept saying that Dlink doesn't support Linux et all.I asked him why Dlink didn't tell the modem vendor to explain that to me when i was buying the modem. I expected a reply like "Microsoft Windows is more popular ... blah blah" but what i got was this -- "You need OpenSource drivers for Linux and 'it' keeps changing, so it is difficult to support Linux ".. I tried to reason out with him politely, but he kept giving me the same answer like a tape recorder..!! (and yes... he didn't know that Dlink provides drivers for Linux with the product...!! ;-) ) sharan rao.

Connect LG-LSP350T to internet

Hi I have taken a FWP of Tata Indicom(LG-LSP350T). I got a usb data cable and am trying to connect to the internet but to no avail. Sometime back I had read in these forums how to connect the 350R phone of Reliance. It was also mentioned that FC4 automatically detected the modem. I have installed FC4. How do i find out whether the modem is detected and how do i connect to the internet िऩऩाद बापट
