Hi,
A friend of mine is looking for a freelance programmer who can work
with an interesting project in Drupal/PHP. Interested people may
contact him directly. Details regarding the project are as follows.
*if not able to reach him, do not mind pinging me :)

*Developer working in PHP needed for Khoj Studios*
Khoj is an international artist led initiative based out of Delhi
that concentrates on cutting edge art practices and collaborating
artists and organisations from Asia to build a strong platform of
contemporary art practices in the region. As a part of its extended
outreach and ambition to reach out to new and remotely located
artists, Khoj is looking at building a strong online presence that
enables artist participation for community building and extensive
professional networking with other Khoj nodes in the networks.
The Khoj CRECHE (Comprehensive Resource for E-Community Hosting and
Expansion) project was envisioned a year ago to achieve these
ambitions. In one year, it has completed the first of the three phases
of implementation (www.khojworkshop.org
<http://www.khojworkshop.org/>) using PHP based Drupal CMS. We are
looking at young and motivated programmers who have experience working
with Drupal or are comfortable with PHP and can work with Drupal to
implement the second phase of the CRECHE project at extremely
competitive market rates. The programmer can be based in or outside of
Delhi and can agree to work full-time or part-time depending upon
their time availability.
If you are interested in the project, please get in touch with
Pooja Sood (Phone: +91-11-65655874, +91-11-65655873.

Hi Linuxers,
I got this recent Sitepoint newsletter ( issue 180 ) that appears
worth sharing.
Where are the web-standards leading? Will these DRM kingpins
always keep playing with standards and making things ever more
difficult for the developer who is the one finally affected by this
'dog-fight for the biggest slice of bread'.
Its a really sad realization that the wealthiest businesses in the
Industry have the cheapest of ways and policies; the two things,
apparently, can never be mutually exclusive!
First up, after selecting Ogg Vorbis audio and Ogg Theora video
as the standard formats for multimedia in HTML5, the HTML Working
Group backed down under pressure from Apple and Nokia, removing
these formats from the spec. Faced with the prospect of yet another
version of HTML with no clear standard for including multimedia content,
developers were up in arms.
Then, while all our backs were turned, Opera filed an antitrust complaint
against Microsoft with the European Commission over the company's tying
of Internet Explorer to Windows, and its persistent failure to support web
standards in IE. Instantly, pundits began trading theories over whether the
complaint had merit, or was simply an irresponsible publicity stunt from Opera.

']
Nokia and Apple have succeeded in removing Ogg Vorbis and Theora from the
current draft, citing patent uncertainties (read: a reluctance to back
a standard
that has no provision for including DRM).
Manuel Amador has detailed why he believes the decision to omit these open
formats to be an "outrageous disaster:"
"(Given) the fact that there are widely available patent-free
implementations
of Ogg technology, there is really no excuse for Apple and Nokia
to say that
they couldn't in good faith implement HTML5 as previously formulated."
Hello Friends,
I use Fedora core 7 in my laptop. I am getting a pecuiliar problem.
The problem is that when I choose fedora from grub menu, sometimes my
machine does not boot. It just hangs.
It has no problem for other distros which are installed in my machine.
When I had fedora core 6 I never faced this problem.
I am confused. Is it any issue with acpi? If it's a hardware problem
then it should happen with all the other distros.
Can anybody help me out of this problem?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Debasish
