All, I installed ubuntu-desktop package (the GNOME env.) on my Kubuntu so, that I could have GNOME and KDE together (for any demos). I installed compiz, that is three packages compiz compiz-gnome compiz-kde I also installed Xserver-xgl; (since Xgl is a pre-requisite for Compiz). Bind and DNS Cache

Hello All, We were discussing DNS caching and the bind configuration. However, bind is a DNS server whereas we only want a DNS cache that updates itself automatically. Maybe I understood it wrong but on the net I found this link for DNS caching. It uses a package called dnsmasq. It works on my system. Hi all, Of late, I have noticed that MTNL's DNS servers 203.94.227.70 and 203.94.243.70 are unresponsive from time to time. Also google and google related sites (gmail,orkut,etc.) open very sluggishly. Has anyone here experienced this? Does anyone know any DNS servers better than MTNL's? Thats almost like saying, PVR's should be banned as users have the ability to forward through them and skip advertisements. Or other channels must be banned, so if you are watching serial XYZ on channel ABC, you must continue to watch it including the ads and not skip it.
