Which laptop offers best support for Linux ?

Hi, Im planning to buy a new laptop, and i intend to use Linux as the operating system i use on the machine. My old latop had Via chipset in it, and therefore i have faced lots of trouble in making Linux work on it, so this time i want to make sure that the machine I buy, would fully support it. So, i need some recommendations as to which laptop would be the best as far as Linux support goes. I am planning to buy a Dell Inspiron 1525. Is it the right choice or should i consider something else ? Thank You

Beware of buying 'blind'. You might end up with a laptop where the webcam and the card reader will not work. That can be a piss-off, though the rest of the hardware will work fine.

The ath9k driver shipped with the latest Fedora 9 kernel, which is a 2.6.27 with the latest wireless patches, and onwards works out of the box. For the iSight camera, you need to extract the proprietary firmware from the MacOS driver using the isight-firmware-tools [1]. Having said that, I would advise you _against_ buying a MacBook [2].
