Hello, I have to setup a firewall box for someone ASAP and I was going through the tutorials at http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?t=16166 I just have a small query as I am confused with the directions of packets. When setting a rule for the INPUT table, there is a source and destination setting. any FOSS tool to make amplitude of music files uniform

Hi group, Is there any tool to set all music/audio files to a certain amplitude? While hearing music files, the amplitude changes from one file to another due to which the volume has to be manually adjusted. I tried normalize-audio but maybe don't know whether it will do the job or how to use it properly. Would appreciate any help if a tool can be applied on a set of files in batch mode. Thanks Kussh

Eureka! Firewall set up.

Hello, Finally I was able to code the firewall exactly as it is intended to operate. It was tough and I even tried to cheat by using Firestarter on a live session and copy the resulting codes, but they turned out to be even more complex than what I wanted. Even tried Shorewall but it did not suit my purpose. I was almost giving up but finally got the wall up. Now I have understood the main concepts and what goes to which table/chain. Data recovery after formatting ext3 to ex4 partition

is it possible to recover data from formatted ext3 partition. Actually while installing ubuntu 9.04 , installer misbehaved with me and formatted my /home partition and thus i lost my valueble data. the new partition is ext4 type. Hello, I had bought this month's Digit magazine which had 3 distro ISOs in one DVD. OpenSuse, Fedora11 (live+Install) and Ubuntu 9.04 (Live+Install). Thankfully, the ISOs did not throw up any md5sum errors. First the Fedora live cd was booted. Everything came up fine. I checked out the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts folder to check out the ifup-eth0 file but was surprised to see that there was no such file. The command ifconfig threw up the eth0 details. Hi Folks, Recently I got a solution from Sift Authorities regarding Sify Connect, as I complained them about the buggy Linux Dialer.
