Should http be banned or blocked?

Dear Friends, With http being insecure and a magnet for injected ads, shouldn't the http protocol be completely banned or blocked internationally and nationally and https be the norm? Regards, Rony.

Thanks everyone for submitting the bid for DebConf in India. If we are thinking of IIT Mumbai as a venue for DebConf 20, then we need to make sure that IIT Mumbai gives us solid WiFi and mobile carrier signals in the campus. During the Mini-DebConf there, we had big issues with internet connectivity. This is something which we can easily fix with help of current students. We have good volunteer numbers in Pune and Mumbai combined, for on the ground support before the event (if it does happen). Also, Mumbai has many hotels to accommodate a large contingent and the IIT campus is large enough to accommodate multiple parallel tracks. Plus, we have many good sightseeing places nearby the city. Hi all, Myself S. Baskar, an active member from ILUG-Chennai since 2005 who is more passionate about Linux/FOSS. A Linux/FOSS user since 1997. I came to know that, few users in this group are interested in creating a custom spin using Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. I have been creating custom spins based on various Linux distro for educational purpose. I hope I can share this experience with ILUG-BOM members if they are interested. A few days after the release of Ubuntu 18.04, I have created a spin based on LUbuntu 18.04 for Libraries.
