Hi, Thankx Xconfigurator worked gr8 and my friend ewas right sis300 was there and it worked!! BTw i was right (by accident) to have configured the card after installation of linux as (i tried on another machine with same config) that the machine hangs while probing for the card. I tried Xconfigurator as told by you on my machine and it worked, though there is a slight resolution problem, but i shall experiment and get that right to in the linux spirit!! nilesh
