I think it is a little late for LB 2002, it will have to be LB 2003 since the earliest you can plan for is feb/march.

Thatz fine. February seems to be a good time to have such an event. But the planning has to start now if we intend to have this on a large scale.
We can learn from the iitians who have just concluded with a small gnu-linux workshop of their own.
You will need sponserors. I think IBM and oracle will be big targets, and ofcourse, RedHat. I think ILUG members must be having contacts in these companies.

We will have to fish out a lot of these. I am sure we will make headway into a lot of them.
There are some very good event management companies for such seminars. I know of 2 of them who do such seminars for Microsoft. And they do a very good job of it. Also, a few of the IBM seminars have been well managed. The IBM Developer-works live event was an example (I dont know if any of you attended).

Can we afford event management companies.......both in terms of Ethically and Financially. Though i WOULD LUV all our events to be VERY PROFESSIONAL in the way they are conducted.
After all....time has come to take Free Software from the domain of the ONLY-GEEKS to the non-GEEKS too....:))
Bye for now and have a nice day.
