This is getting really old.
Many newbies, trying GNU/Linux for the first time probably don't know the difference between a kernel version number and distro version number. The probably are even clear on the funda of a distro.
Given that one of the objectives of the list is to encourage newbies to use GNU/Linux, such a reply doesn't help.
This has happened so many times, I think one should understand by now that it is a common misunderstanding people have about version numbers.
Hitesh, please mention what distribution of GNU/Linux you are using i.e. Red Hat, Debian etc. Also it's a good practice to use a meaningful subject line (on this list it's necessary).
