- ubuntu 6.06.1 (dapper) booted nicely with every device driver but
display resolution was very bad probably 640 by 480.
You will not get resolution above 640x480. its a limitation with ggc mother board. Its not supported at all.
- ubuntu 6.10 was even more interesting. it did not boot at all on
a machine with the same ggc 2 mother board with a seluron processor but booted very well on the same mobo with intel p4 3ghz processor.
It seems that ggc motherboards have some bug in bios. AS per i was told by the leading Indian PC Manufacturer. Coz my company was suppose to certify UBUNTU on their new models which was going to get launced in market with UBUNTU pre installed.
- fedora core 5 did not show up the graphical installer but I
managed to install it without any desktop like gnome or kde. so the best part was on all computers ubuntu 6.06 aka 6.06.1 booted without proper display. and ubuntu 6.10 did not boot on the same ggc motherboard with seluron 2.8 processor and booted perfectly well with the same mobo with a p4 3 ghz processor.
Even in test run I also faced this same problem at the testing center of the leading Indian PC Manufacturer.
Anyways lets keep our fingers crossed to get this bug resolved by Motherboard manufacturer....
