There was a problem for which "ide: error not recognised" was returned, and then SeekDriveReady returned error in the LBA sector...What else could go wrong was the question?
Then it logged me in and strangely I found everything was working fine even configurations in my home directory.... So the first thing I did was in fstab i removed check of /home so tht it doesnt exasperate me for 20 mins filling my screen with buffer i/o error n then location counting....................... I will probably check it again with parted because fsck failed again for those sectors
DriveReady SeekComplete or such errors usually mean there's something physically wrong with either the hard disk, the cables or the connectors on the motherboard. I'd say backup everything immediately.
Since I am right now under warranty for one year which expires in June 2007 from Acer on my laptop I would go about trying to get it replaced....But when I talked to the guys at the service centre he just baulked when he heard I was running GNU/Linux and told me that such problems crop up on "LINUX machines".. How do I go about the matter now?? Do I go shout my head off now???
