Definetly doable. Instead of colleges, set it up in Cultural book depot and or some popular mobo vendor. This will provide much wider exposure than a college. Setup one such in each major metro. Followup in the form of install fests in the vicinity would add punch.
Have you thought --------------- once the kiosk is made. And now you get 1 TERABYTE HARD-DISKS for $ 100 ------------- why not put all types of content on the kiosks.
Then the commercial vendors will get interested // so will the colleges.
I mean, any reason the kiosk stores only FOSS LINUX.
