Can any one suggest me a Mobile phone model which works on Symbian OS ?
Symbian OS experience is not very good. A 6600 in our family gave a lot of problems and it was bought at its initial time for almost 24K. It was a big disappointment. After gprs was enabled and some games downloaded, it would hang or automatically shut down without warning. Once it gave some error message and wiped out the telephone directory. Quite a few times it had to be shut down by pulling out the battery. So please
beware.
Blame the implementation not the OS.. i used to have a SE P800 which was fantastic. It had all (well almost all) the features one would require from a pda+phone and gprs was great until orange/hutch hiked the rates to 1p/kb. UIQ 2.x was quite stable and i never had an OS freeze.
Very much true. Though I don't know the technical part of it but I have seen lots of symbian phones from Nokia and have been fiddling around a bit with couple of friend's SE P900i and P910i. They are a lot more stable and faster than Nokia phones, even in that price range. 6600 has to be slow because of it's low processor speed and low RAM. I've had hardware problems with my Nokia 3230 but none with software as such. And you
have to be a bit careful before installing softwares, check it's certificates and details before installing. And look around before you install, if it's a problematic file someone or the other may have complained about it.
