How about a Sharp Zaurus - i dont think it has gsm support. but its an excellent PDA, runs Linux :) you can search on handhelds.org for the list of compatible PDAs which can run Linux.

Quoting Rishi rishi@gangfam.com:
Hi Guys,
My boss wants a state of the art / latest / greated PDA + Phone that works in
US and India + bundled software to sync with the GNU/Linux operating system.
He is going to the US tonight and will buy it from there. Anyone that has done R&D on this topic and can suggest a model I should tell him to buy, would be
super.
For the past 1 hour I've been on Google, LinuxDevices, Palm.com and Nokia.com
and have got even more confused on what I should recommend/suggest. ;-)
Any help would be great.
My goal is to prevent him from buying a product that would require him to switch (dual boot) into Windows just so that he can sync his PDA with the computer for data entry.
I've not had much success with the PDA sync tools on GNU/Linux with his notebook. Probably got something to do with the USB / Serial Port thingy..
Regards
Rishi
