Hi
This is a snip off from a thread abt how sad some isps are monopolistic coz others bill you more etc ...
I m just curious how much bandwidth does an average linuxer need each month ? I know it varies from person to person and all sorts of things but just curious.
i browse , chat, email , upload photos , update critical upgrades ( whatever they are called ) each month, voip on skype and a few tools ... my appetite is about 700 - 1000 megs monthly.
You forgot some important things :)
apt-get install <package-name>
and how bout those few GIGs of CD / DVD for your choice of latest distro. I am sure many of us want to get their own CD downloaded, before your local magazine delivers it,and probably in non-working condition some times.
O ya also, dont forget about those whole lot of MP3, P2P stuff that you want to be downloaded while you are off at work :)
So no matter how much ever bandwidth you have, people over here are just hungry to eat it all :P
These are the few reasons why people need unlimited data transfers.
