Isn't the unlimited 256 Kb/s some Rs 900 per
month? Sounds pretty
reasonable to me.
IIRC, that's only for their Delhi customers. Not Mumbai ;-)
I think tht is very reasonable. There are no MPs or Union ministers in Mumbai who would notice or care about MTNL services, whereas in Delhi they are practically dropping off the treetops. Of course they may not care about MTNL either, but the pain if hey do notice is much higher, hence the differential service levels.
On the train two days back, I met an MTNL staffer who was very loyal and vociferous about MTNL standards. He told me that I should apply for a very cheap Garuda CDMA, Rs 1,000 for two year rent free service and Rs 1,000 free talktime, excellent connectivity (he said). Does anyone know whether it has built-in data connectivity to compete with DSL?
