Philip replied....
Mount Poing : Options [ /, /boot, /usr, /home, /var, /opt, /tmp, /usr/local ]
Size Megs : [ space to enter the size ]
[ ] use remaining space ( A check box option )
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ grow to fill disk. Means the same as this.
but linux refuse to take any partition made with check box option
once I tried to assign some space to /, /home, swap, /usr but it didn't worked.
Can you please tell me the size to b assign for each of these above mention mount points. I'm unable to format my disk. & I do not want to format hda1 device as it contains Windows on it. One more thing, where should I mount the root ?
PS: If you use Workstation, it will probably blow away your other partitions.
There are only 4 options in the installer. They are,
- Workstation
- Server
- Laptop &
- Custom setup.
Out of these 4, only 1st one is possiable for me bcoz my machine is neighter server nor laptop & I can't do the custom setup as I'm new & don't know much abt linux. So only option left with me is the workstation.
Thanks & Regards, SAMEER :))
