Namaste,
I am trying to use my MTS mblaze netconnect with my Fedora 14. When I allow the network manager to connect to the internet automatically, it shows connected and also assigns an ip address to my computer. It also adds the default nameservers in /etc/resolv.conf but I am not able to ping www.google.com or 8.8.8.8. Then I changed the nameservers to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. and tried pinging again. It failed.
As a matter of simple procedure, can you check if the computer gets a working connection to the internet through other means? I used to have a similar problem with Fedora earlier, where browsing to sites worked only with IP addresses, although Ping usually worked from the command line. Also check if it is a routing issue, and if you have a default route set.
I don't think this has much to do with your modem or the chat scripts.
