Hello All,
The Wireless Workshop will be held on 31st March at HBCSE Mankhurd from 5.30 pm onwards as per schedule. Those who cannot attend on that day can come the following week to try out the installed system. There will also be a document made to describe the installation process.
Question. Can we disassemble and reinstall everything?
Pobably no. Because of time constraints. We would have to do a full day event. But It would be very good to do one if we have sufficient numbers. The original workshop's goal was to run thru the steps of installing an adhoc mesh which could be used for rural communities in a self sustaining way. Subsequently the west bengal govt and afaik TN and Kerala govts are doing similiar things.
Also, when does the actual installation take place? Before 5:30 pm or does it start at 5:30 pm? I want to attend when the installation takes place.
Ok. What we are going to do is connect a debian / other distro repository to the mesh. Any one in or around HBCSE will be able to download / install from this server. We presume that the mesh is still up and running. If it isnt then we will try to get it up and this would mean coming the next day too. Also since i have an AP (bricked) for use by the community others can try to debrick it using jtag.
For the exercise to succeed we would require ip addresses of the mesh router and gateway and their physical location. Those interested in debricking read up on friedfunk and jtag on parallel port and wriggler.
Rony could you please edit suitably and also obtain the ip info.
