Hi,
I have one unix machine in my intranet that I can use from any other windows machine through telnet. but I am not able to run telnet on unix to access my win machines.
**I hope that the sentence is "I am....unix to be accessed by my win machines"
why it is so ? what should I do start telnet service on this machine. plz help me.
-------- if it is linux then use the command
ntsysv
it will show you all the deamon options..check the telnet option using the spacebar.
else go in /etc/xinitd.d/ and modify the line disable = yes to disable = no in file "telnet". --------
then either reboot the machine or do /etc/rc.d/init.d/xinitd restart
Hope that it will start the daemon.
Also check if the net is properly configured on the unix(linux) machine by pinging the machine.
---------------------------------------------------
I have done something stupid !! i have locked myself out of the system
I logged in as root in to my system and then I enabled LDAP, but I am not sure if I even enabled Kerbose Now I can't log back into system how can I make it work... I want to get in
at the boot prompt
boot:linux single
it will get you a root shell. Revert back the changes and you are done.
