Yup. Also rl0, fxp0 etc.
rl0 --> realtek card on first ethernet interface fxp0 -->Intel Ethernet Express Cards on first ethernet interface ... fxp1 for the second card and stuff like that .. its a naming conventions used in freebsd n most unixes...for identifying cards frm their vendors ...

Cable Modem networks connect to your Ethernet Card. Some of
them do PPPoE
but those are very few.
PPPoE is oft used in DSL methinks.
I know that. That's why I asked of anyone know about a cable network that uses PPPoE.
