Is it possible to transfer files over two computers using the comm port? Withough using the network card?

As far as I know you can use serial communication (UART Chip) for transfering data through comm port. I am not sure of any manual pages, but you can have a look in the documentation directory of the linux kernel source.
I think there you might find some documentation on using comm port.
