popular HP model 2410C doesn't seem to work on Linux.

I have an Epson V30 that works with Linux drivers (x86 and amd64) from Epson's site.

generally over a period of 15 years I have noticed that usually the cheapest model of any piece of hardware will not work with linux since half the hardware is dispensed with and is simulated by software in the driver. Next cheapest usually works - and the more expensive ones again will not work. (this is a personal observation)
