check out http://maps.google.com, http://maps.yahoo.com andhttp:// openstreetmap.org for Chromepet near Chennai. Look at MIT and you will see the power of OSM. OSM is the geographical equivalent of wikipedia. If you have a GPS logger, you can make traces and upload them. Even without a logger you can help complete OSM for your area using the Yahoo! satellite imagery as a base.
