If you have a Linux router configured as your gateway, you can use the following command to detect which machine is generating high traffic.
# tcpdump -i eth0 ( where 0 is the first NIC)

I'm working in an LAN envoirment where there are around 100 PC.s which in turn connected to WAN . Sometimes it happens such that WAN Utilization reaches to peak .Is there any utility in Linux where I can trace which particular PC is genrating High traffic .
