I don't have an answer to your original problem, but my advice is to firt upgrade to RHL 7.3 before trying to figure out your card ... 7.3 is likely to have better support for your card.

If u are confident enough or want to experiment, try out the generic server or some other Xserver for asus chip and try it our if it works. However you need to have your card manual/user guide by your side as you may need the details.try it out. But be sure of what you are doing or you may thrash your system. However that may teach you a thing or two new about your system. The command for the same is Xconfigurator.
to get a graphical login set the initdefault line in /etc/inittab to 5
