Hi!,
I would like to set up a linux based mail servers (multiple) server per remote location so it would not choke the wan link any clues in this direction which would be easiest setup for this ??
[snip] A single mail server with drop boxes for all the users on the n/w located centrally with a dedicated connection to the internet.
Other local mail servers grab mail i.e upload/download mail via available POTS/dial-up links. Thus u have a simple....scalable....cheap solution.

i.e. if a remote user@remote.comp.com sends email to user2@remote.comp.com is should not be routed through comp.com but the local remote server should route it.
I don't see a reason why mail from user@remote.comp.com to user2@remote.comp.com should route via (a mail server at) comp.com.
If you are using qmail, the ~/locals, ~/me & ~/rcpthosts file with 'remote.comp.com' at that location will deliver local mails locally & remote mails via smtp...I don't see a problem..or am I missing something?
