having problems with my comp, so I could not reply.
Posting to more than one mailing list asking for help is called cross
post, (that is what it means to me I do not know if it is a standard). For obvious reasons [the computing power, elecricity, human effort (most important) and bandwidth are all wasted],in a cross postt. The most hurting part of it was that the person who did cross post was a friend of mine whome I had subscribed to this and other mailing lists on his request.
OK. Now I understand what a cross post is. Apart from the above, I think cross posting is somewhat like an insult, to the extent that the guy does not have faith that we will have the answer.......like hedging his bets or something :-)
Dont be too harsh on him, I guess he didnt realise the negetive part of it.
But I dont understand how you realised he was crossposting. Because the headers in the file did not show it was directed to more than one list.
