You can install FC3 64-bit OR i386. The reason is that 64 bits processors will also natively manage 32-bit operations.
Besides at the moment all the packages have not be moved onto the 64-bit edition of FC3.
#rpmbuild --rebuild file.src.rpm #rpm -ivh /usr/src/fedora/RPMS/i386/file.i386.rpm
or equivalent.
