am looking for a mono laser printer (and/or multifunctional device) where the primary criteria is economy in running cost.
my guess is that those toners that can be refilled with ease (as opposed to buying new cartridge each time) drastically brings down the cost. is that correct? if so then what are the printers that allow for this?
Speaking of multifunctional devices, are they really compelling? especially the ones which have Fax and PC fax? the samsung multifunctional 4110 is only 2000 more than regular mono laser but without a fax.
any recommendations based on first hand experience, highly solicited.
I would recommend the Samsung ML-1610. I have the ML-1520P and have been running it in economy mode ever since I bought it. The economy mode prints look crisp and clear. I have tried printing in the regular mode but its just a waste of toner. The toner that I got from Samsung is a introductory toner or something so its supposed to print only 3000 pages as opposed to the regular toner which prints 10000 pages. If you're buying a Samsung, contact Growmore ( Chembur ). They will give you the best deals and try to differ your purchase to the month end when they are trying to meet targets. You can pressurize them to give you a couple of regular free cartridges along with the printer at no extra cost :) I think the cost of the printer is about Rs.6500/- You can check out the ad in TOI (yesterday or a couple of days back).
