Server Type : POP Host : pop.gmail.com username: your gmail address Use Secure Connection (SSl) : ALWAYS Authentication Type : Password
I have been deparately trying to configure Gmail with thunderbird. I have set the port 995, Use Secure Connection, Use Secure Authentication.
In my quest for getting gmail working with linux, I did exactly as advised on this list & by one kind soul Sujeet. Still no result.
I also took tcpdump output for the entries which (I think) pertain to gmail:
17:35:30.419412 203.94.237.70.32795 > 203.94.227.70.domain: 22050+ A? pop.gmail.com. (31) (DF) 17:35:30.648176 203.94.227.70.domain > 203.94.237.70.32795: 22050 2/9/9 CNAME[|domain] 17:35:30.652102 203.94.237.70.32967 > 64.233.185.109.pop3s: S 111371392:111371392(0) win 5840 <mss 1460,sackOK,timest amp 471062 0,nop,wscale 0> (DF) 17:35:33.646707 203.94.237.70.32967 > 64.233.185.109.pop3s: S 111371392:111371392(0) win 5840 <mss 1460,sackOK,timest amp 471362 0,nop,wscale 0> (DF)
And the last entry keep repeating endlessly (with thunderbird showing "Connecting to pop.gmail.com...")
Any ideas ?
