Hello all, good-evening.
There are various perspectives to this story here. One of the most important ones to be looked into an introspected on is the need for proper documentation/training along with the machines that are being dolled out the students in goa.
Lets not give the government an oppurtunity to complain. If we have given so...then lets learn from those mistakes of ours. We should make it a point to have setup the appropriate infrastructure to support such a noble cause.
Any of us who has the capability to bridge the gap between the techies and the bureaucracy should make it a point to touch base with the appropriate authorities and brief them on a plan of action.
Any investment can guarantee ROI only if the same is executed in a valiant fashion with due planning. If any of these important elements fail to live up to the expectations the ROI can be nullified to a great extent.
So....lets get together, sit across the table, hash out a plan and chalk out a strategy to get back the earlier plan of GOG on the road again.
Am ready for any sales pitches to be made to any of the imp beaureaucrats. Infact if any of us from the Bombay Gnu-LUG can help out please let us know.....we will be ready to attack.
Have a nice day all...and lets all get together and do our best.

Dear GNU
Hi!
It was suprising about CM's comment ( its not b'cos fishy...). He being from IIT he should'nt have pass that comment. no way do MS prod. are eassy and bug freeeeee!!!! too. How much he or his advisor have used Linux? If something is really good and free one should not mind about the little ( I seriously dought about LINUX GUI support) complexity of the product. More the sofisticated more the complex.
I think some one should show him KNOPPIX CD he might ( if not fishyyyy motive... ) change his view about LINUX.
PPS: It was most disappointing to hear the chief minister claim in the Goa assembly that GNU/Linux was "too difficult" for the school students. This needs to be contasted against the GoG's to avoid giving even a decent guide along with the Free Software they installed, while at the same time being willing to spend a crore (ten million) rupees on Microsoft's proprietorial product. Is there a fishy smell in the air?
