Hello All, I hv win98 & LINUX 8.0 on my HD now i want to use this HD on another PC but if i choose LINUX option from LILO, system restarts. & if win98 , it gives error - ' A device or resource required by VFAT is

not present or is unavailable . VFAT cannot continue loading. system halted '

Is it because change in system confg. ?

Yes, you guessed it right. Even if the config is an exact match... differences in BIOS settings can make lilo do things like you said.

Plz suggest me solution I need my system working

try if this works...

1. Attach HDD as primary master 2. Boot using a CD (linux)... in rescue mode or load Knoppix 3. drop to a root shell 4. mount your Gnu/Linux on some directory 5. Do a "chroot" to that 6. re-run lilo
