There are many. Mathematica, Matlab and Maple are amongst the more popular ones. But there are some FSF alternatives too like Octave and Gnuplot (ok, this one doesn't compare to Mathematics but it's still useful). If you're interested in Number Theory/Algebra simulations, try looking at PARI, MAGMA Macaulay etc. Freshmeat has many answers.

hello luggers, is there a system simulation software available for GNU/Linux like Matlab? ... i am not entirely sure but i think Mathworks has a matlab build for linux too ... but are there others?
