Sometime on Mar 19, AS cobbled together some glyphs to say:
Programming Perl 3rd edition - Part 1 http://www.unix.org.ua/orelly/perl/prog3/index.htm
Learning Perl is a better option for beginners. Programming perl is basically the man pages in print format.
BTW, I learnt perl exclusively from the man pages. Not a single other reference.
